Review BareMinerals Flawless Definition Voluminizing Mascara

I received a deluxe sample of this mascara in my February Birchbox. Here is a description of the product from the Sephora website:

bareMinerals Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara
What it is:
A mascara that give lashes the mineral care they've been craving while also delivering big-time volume and the perfect definition.

What it does:
This mascara contains the exclusive NutriPlump™ formula that dramatically plumps lashes up to 600%* for unheard-of thickness, fullness, and flutter. The 100% pure bareMinerals formula is paraben free, clump free, and smudge proof, for lusciously thick lashes with superior volume.

*After two coats of mascara, based on an independent study.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Synthetic Dyes
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

My review. I absolutely love this mascara. The wand it perfect the bristles and not hard or too soft. It separated my lashes and did not make them clump. I usually forget to use my eyelash curler when I'm in a hurry and had no problem with this mascara giving me a little curl to my lashes which is an added bonus. I did use 2 coats but if your looking for a more natural everyday look you have enough with one. Most importantly the mascara lasted through the day and did not flake. I agree, it's a little pricey for a mascara but I can splurge and it will last me till the 3 month mark. What is your favorite mascara?

Sinful Color Polka Dot Inspired NOTD

I was feeling a little blue today. I love the rain and I think it just made my mood gloomier. But, I decided to copy the Polka Dot Nail Picture I saw on a display at Wags.
As a base I put on Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Hard As Wraps (1 Coat). I then put 2 coats of Sinful Color Nail Polish in Fig 961. If you look at the pic it's the second color from left to right. Then with a rounded toothpick I used SC Unicorn 953 to paint the Polka Dots. This is what I came up with.

I topped it with a coat of Seche Vite and Viola. My mood instantly is lighter and I have cute nails.
Fig is a beautiful Magenta looking color with what looks like really small red gold flecks. They make the color shine. Unicorn is a muted yellow. I only put one coat of Unicorn for the dots. Have you tried the Polka Dot look?

WAGS Awesome Sale

I just got back from going to WAGS. CVS is my favorite drug store but WAGS right now has me hooked. I went in to exchange some Sinful Color nail polishes I got because I had duplicate of 2 colors without knowing and the other one just did not like. So when I walk in I notice there is a sign that says WOW Olay Body Wash $2.00. I immediately went and grabbed 3 bottles. I got Creme Body Was Plus Creme Ribbons, Body Butter Ribbons and Tone enriching ribbons. I remembered I had a coupon for Olay Body Wash. So, instead of paying $2.00 for them I paid 99 cents each  (I had 3 coupons). . Then while scanning my receipt I noticed one of them scanned at .98 cents. I was not watching her ring it up so I'm not sure which one it was but I will go back tomorrow and double check, that one I actually got for free. I'm assuming they are clearing those out for the new Olay body collection they already have on the shelves.

Then while on the checkout stand there was a Revlon display of the Colorburst Lipgloss. The cashier told me that they were on sale for $3.99 with the WAGS coupon. (Right now Revlon items are 40% off, Plus they have a WAGS $1.00 off coupon). I picked Crystal Lilac and used another manufacture coupon and ended up paying $3.48 that included tax.

But wait, the biggest sale and find was my sinful color purchase. Right now they are on sale 2 for $3.00. I purchased 6 bottles and instead of paying $9 I ended up paying $3 dollars for all. They were 50 cents each. What she did was scan the WAGS coupon 6 times because the WAGS coupon is 1.00 off any Sinful Nail color. Those WAGS coupons she had behind the counter from a little booklet. I did not see those by the WAGS sale paper so maybe they ran out and she only had one copy. Whatever it was I totally scored. I will post the nail colors plus my receipt later.

I hope your WAGS has these sales.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

I remember going to school and having to wear green so that my friends would not pinch me (although they still would even if I wore green). My cousin made some corned beef and I'd like to share a picture with you. It looks sooo good, however I'm just not a corned beef person. I remember trying it one time long ago and I did not like it, so I'd thought I'd try again. Yep, sure enough it's just not my thing. I think it's the brine that just gets me. I thought I'd grow into it like I did with pastrami, but alas no. I did make some crusty oat wheat bread though and it was really good.

Do you celebrate St. Patty's Day?

March BirchBox

I have been receiving my Birchbox since December of last year and I think the concept is genius. The concept is you pay $10 a month and at the beginning of each month you get a box filled with sample beauty products. According to the Birch box website this is what membership entails: Monthly Birchbox with 4-5 luxe beauty samples, Website filled with expert tips, tricks, and tutorials, $10 off full-size products for every 100 Birchbox points, Points for referring friends, buying products, and more.

This months box included the following products:
  1. Sample size Classic Strong Mint Marvis Toothpaste
  2. Full size Pangea Organics Lip Balm Italian Red Mandarin with Rose
  3. Full size Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencil in Ava (Purple Color)
  4. AHAVA Revival Bath Salts Mandarin Cedarwood Pure Salt 1 8.5 oz bag
  5. Eye Brow Spoolie
  6. 2 Sample packets of AHVA Enriched Intensive Foot Cream
I have included a swatch of the Sue Devitt pencil (it's really soft and the color is wonderful), and I have tried the lip balm. My lips really need it and aside from making my lips really soft it smells heavenly.
If you'd like to have your own Birchbox delivered to your door check their website out here for more info. Please keep in mind that the boxes will not contain full sizes all the time.

LUV BBW Club March Free Gift

I stopped by my local Bath & Body Works store this past Thursday. Since I've signed up for this LUV BBW Club the monthly gifts have been pretty good. Last months I think was the best. (One full size anti bac hand soap, one pocket anti-bac hand gel and a anti-bac holder) This months free gift was two small travel size candles. They had a variety to choose from but I chose Pink Sangria and Pineapple Orchid. Some smelled really sweet, I don't like those scents they give me a headache. I thought Pink Sangria added a nice fruity smell without being overpowering. And Pineapple Orchid has a fresh scent to it as well.
I'll post next months free gift. Do you belong to the club?

Hungry Girl Cinnamon Oatmeal Parfait

Who has not been on a diet right? It seems that I have been on a diet since I was in the 6th grade. I remember looking at fashion magazines and wanting to be like Cindy Crawford. It's funny because in the 6th grade I was not overweight like I thought I was. I think my weight really became a problem when I was in my late 20's. I've been on Weight Watchers on and off and now I'm back on and figured it was a good time to start for lent.

I know in order to loose weight I must eat breakfast everyday. Something I rarely do, I drink coffee and that's my breakfast. Well that has to change. For the past two days I've had Hungry Girl's Cinnamon Oatmeal Parfait. It's really good and it's fresh. It's going to be a staple for me during the hot summer months when a nice hot bowl of oatmeal just won't do. You can click here for Oatmeal Parfait recipes. Enjoy

Manual Override Foudation/Concealer Review and Swatches

I am an America's Next Top model fan and as some of you may know Jay Manual has his own line of cosmetics. He used to sell his concealer on QVC and I had been tempted to purchase it on a few occasions but never did. I decided to purchase it because I've been wanting a different concealer since my Estee Lauder double wear is almost gone. Not wanting to miss a bargain I purchased various things on his website.

I'd like to say I had a really hard time taking pictures of the swatches. (I probably need a new camera) but I thought it would look best on paper. The only problem is it really does not capture the pinkish tone in the concealer but the foundations are pretty good. At least it gives you a good idea before you buy. If I would have known how dark the tan is I would have never bought it but I never found a picture of the tan foundation.

Here are the things I purchased: manual override conceal in medium, Zone Specific Foundation in Medium and Tan, and The Essentials Kit in Medium.

Here is the description on the items from his website. http://manueloverride.com/

Conceal in Medium: A unique character that delivers a creamy yet dense veil of pigment that instantly disguises imperfections on the face and shadows under the eye area. Conceal lasts all day and does not settle into lines, wrinkles, and pores.

Zone Specific Foundation: Each Compact contains two shades of foundation in the same shade palette. Zone Specific foundation is a unique concept, formual and technique that works to eliminate the mask effect of traditional foundation. Two shades of cream foundation create the illusion of even skin tone and deliver perfect coverage. (Both foundations include a foundation brush and it's fabulous)

First let me say that the foundation is a lightweight cream foundation. The foudation is creamy and blends very well. I used my ELF powder brush to stipple the foundation on my face and it blended well. I am a MAC NC 37-40 and I was pleased that the medium foundation has yellow tones in it. The darker side of the medium I can probably use for the summer but what I did was contour with the darker foundation. The concealer I'm still not sure about. The one good thing is the tube is huge. You get 1 oz. You probably can't tell by the pictures but it does have a pinkish tone to it and it is very sheer. I have dark circles and I have fine lines and it seemed I'd have to pack it on for it to give me full coverage. My fav is still my Eve Pearl Corrector. I'll see if I can use the concealer in other areas of the face but I don't know if it will work since it has a pinkish tone to it.

Okay the best part of this whole post is wait for it..... Each item was $10.00 and of course it does NOT include shipping. But hey, where can you find a concealer that is 1 oz for ten bucks??? And the foundation came with the brush for that price as well. All of his items are $10.00 on his site. I bought the essentials kit and will be reviewing that in the next couple of days. I think I'm going to buy the concealer in Light, radiant dimension powder in medium with brush, and the natural face kit.

Essie French Affair Collection Coat Azure and French Affair

I reviewed and swatched Sand Tropez from Essie's Collection French Affair. Since I bought four colors I am now swatching French Affair and Coat Azure. According to Essie's website French Affair is a sophisticated soft lavendar pink. Coat Azure is a breathtaking medium blue with shimmer. Out of the two colors Coat Azure was the easiest to work with. French Affair is pretty but was hard to work with in order to get the color right. They are beautiful pastels but so far Coat Azure is my favorite.
I have one more left which is Nice is Nice. I think I'm not a big fan of opaque nail polishes because they are hard to work with. Essie is my favorite brand of nail polish but I might try French Affair with another polish to see if I can get it to work better. You can buy these at Walgreen's and CVS.

1 Coat of SH Hard as Nails Hard as Wraps,
2 Coats of French Affair with 1 coat Seche Vite Dry Fast top Coat.

1 Coat SH Hard As Wraps, 2 Coats of Coat Azure
