2011 Allure Beauty Box on SALE NOW SOLD OUT

For a couple of years now I have purchased the Allure Beauty Box. I have not been disappointed since I started purchasing them about 4 years ago. They come will full size products and last years it came with a reusable tote bag. You can buy yours SOLD OUT. The downside is that the price has gone up last year and this year again. However, the current price still beats the full retail price of everything you get. I'm excited about the colorscience eyeshadow palette, ROC night wrinkle moisturizer and the Benefit PoreFessional Pro Balm Minimizer. But that's not all you get here is a list of the full size products. According to the allure website this is what you get:

  1.  AVEENO Positively Nourishing Energizing Body Wash
  2.  AVEENO Smart Essentials Pre Purifying Facial Wash
  3.  BENEFIT the POREfessional PRO Balm Pore Minim
  4.  BIORE Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser
  5.  BUXOM Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Debbie
  6.  CLEAN & CLEAR Advantage Popped Pimple relief drying paste
  7.  CLEAN & CLEAR Morning Burst Boost body wash
  8.  CLEAN & CLEAR Morning Burst Surge power cleanser

Now I do have to say that sometimes the boxes vary but you do get ALL FULL SIZES from my past experiences with them (It can change at anytime so read before you buy).
Mine came out to $54.50 and that included shipping and tax to CA. But ALLURE will donate $5.00 to The Skin Care Cancer Foundation. Just on the Suki eye lift cellular cream at $54.95 the box pays for itself. Not including the Porefessional at $28.00, the ROC Night cream at $21.99 and the Primer for about $21.99 also.

NYX Dissapointment SALE

For those of you that don't know NYX had a big sale for their 12th anniversary. Most of the items (not all) were $1.20. Apparently NYX did not know how to handle the massive response they had and their servers could not handle the traffic. I tried to check out for 3hours and nothing. There were many things wrong with the sale. People had 2 things in their cart instead of 1, other people's credit card numbers were showing up while people tried to check out and who knows what else. The saddest part is that NYX has promised a 50% off coupon code with free shipping. 50% off does nothing when items were $1.20. I understand that there were technical difficulties and the site crashed. But they should honor the SALE price to the people who were waiting forever to check out. I called customer service and they are suppose to put the 50% off code on Facebook. On their twitter page it said WE had to send them an email to get the code. It's sad that NYX's customer service is really bad. What's even worse is that they don't care about complaints because people will still buy their makeup.
Should I continue to buy makeup from them? Would you?

Happy 5 De Mayo

Hello everyone. Happy 5 De Mayo. Aside from drinking Margaritas and sipping Tequila here are little known facts about this celebrated holiday.

  1. It all started with a credit default. In 1861, after years of fighting both internally and with America, Mexico was bankrupt. That year, President Benito Juarez “issued a moratorium in which all foreign debt payments would be suspended for a brief period of two years, with the promise that after this period, payments would resume,” according to UCLA’s Chicano network. The French, English, and Spanish weren’t interested in waiting around, so they invaded Mexico to retrieve their payments. The latter two countries retreated, but the French tried to take over the country. Cinco de Mayo resulted when the Mexicans defeated the French in Puebla, Mexico.
  2. Cinco de Mayo is a big deal in the US–but not in Mexico. In Mexico, it is primarily a regional holiday, celebrated around Puebla. In the United States, it’s nationwide. This makes it more of a Chicano than a Mexican holiday.
  3.  The margarita was invented about 70 years after the Cinco de Mayo defeat. Those Puebla victors may have toasted with tequila, but it took a while for ice, sugar, and lime to find its way into their cups. The battle of Puebla took place in 1862. The margarita didn’t come about until 1930 or later, according to the San Francisco Chronicle
  4. The first US Cinco de Mayo celebration took place in 1967. A group of California State University students started commemorating the holiday to recapture Chicano history (there was no Chicano holiday at the time).
