Peanut Butter & Jelly Liplicous Lip Gloss

I was at the Bath and Body Works the other day and had to do a double take with all the new lip glosses they have. They had Strawberry Lemonade, Salted Caramel, Apple Cinnamon, and Peanut Butter & Jelly. These caught my attention because they have two colors. Yes they do smell like Peanut butter and Jelly but more Jelly than Peanut butter. It's a sheer shimmer with little color. You have to apply these with a light hand or else they can be super sticky. If your looking for something to hydrate your lips, then you need to skip these. For hydration I'd go for the lip balms or treatments. These would be a super cute gift idea for little girl for Halloween and can including the color changing gloss Bad Witch or Good Witch, Vampire Vixen, Crazy for Candy Corn, Wicked Kiss, Bitten & Smitten, Cookies and Cream, and Strawberry Bonilla. Whew that's a lot of gloss. I might get Strawberry Bonilla as a Halloween treat for me. You can buy them here.

 According the BBW website:

Our fun, new side-by-side formula gives you the perfect combination of flavor and shimmery shine! What's better than your 2 favorite flavors - combined?

  • Delicious mouth-watering flavor and high-shine in a moisturizing formula
  • A creamy blend of delicious peanut butter and sweet jelly
  • A bronze and berry side-by-side shimmer

NOTD Zoya Sooki

I had my nails done and had bought this when Zoya was having a sale. I love this gel looking tomato red. It might look a little off in the pic but I love this red. I think it's become my favorite and I love it especially for summer. I also bought Rica and will be reviewing that when I get my nails done again.

Highlighters

I think that the use of highlighters in a makeup application is important if you know how to use them correctly. I prefer the use of liquid highlighters rather than compact highlighters. I like the using my fingers because I feel I can control the application more, than with a brush. I know that many people like MAC's mineralize skin finishes. I like them too but I do think that those require a special application, I have one and I will review it with my other compact highlighter from Mally.

My two favorite highlighters are Serious Skin Care Illuminating Infusion Radiant Makeup Base and Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer. Both can be used alone or mixed in with either foundation or a tinted moisturizer.

The one that I use the most with my foundation is the SSC Radiant Makeup Base. According the SSC website: A smooth and radiant makeup base that evens out and illuminates the complexion. Our hydrating formula minimizes the appearance of imperfections with a beautifully smooth finish. Skin looks glowy and more even. Foundation application becomes smoother and easier. Wear alone or under makeup for a subtle but noticeable glow. I find that the SSC can be used as a primer as well, it's very versatile. The SSC has more of a yellow tone to it with a subtle glow. I don't use this to highlight various areas to the face but mix it with my foundation or use it as a base. It gives such a nice finish to the skin. The look is a healthy glow and not unwanted shimmer to the face.

The JM Argan Illuminizer according to the box it came in: An ultra light skin brightener with a hint of bronze, giving skin a radiant, luminous glow that lasts all day. Works to eliminate dark circles with Argan Oil conditions the skin. The universal bronze shade is perfect for any skin tones or skin types. This highlighter has a more gold tint to it and more shimmer. I tried mixing it with my foundation and did not like the look it gave me. It was too shimmery and not with a bronze look either. The pump also dispenses too much product. A very little big goes a long way. I do like to apply this like a traditional highlighter on the bridge of the nose, along the cheekbones, and maybe a little on the temples. It also says you can mix it with a body lotion which I think would be great for applying on the chest and arm area if your going to wear a top or dress to enhance those areas.

Overall, they are both good highlighters. What is your favorite highlighter to use?

You can barely see the SSC which is why it gives such a nice finish.
You can see the JM one is more blended but has more of a gold shimmer to it.

Josie Maran Argan Oil Color Stick in Sweet Pea

This is part of a kit that I bought from QVC. This was my first time trying Josie Maran and I find I like her products. I reviewed the Lip Balm and now it's time for the multi-tasking Color Stick. Sweet Pea is an exclusive color to QVC you can't buy this from the Josie Maran website. I like that this stick is multi-tasking you can use it on your cheeks and on you lips. It's a sheer wash or like a raspberry color and it's pretty creamy. I've used it twice and I really like it on my lips it gives me a subtle wash of color while on my cheeks is gives me a nice glow. I also like the control you get with a stick, you can put the color where you want to making it goof proof. It does a smell to it, it smells like Argan Oil. Not a pleasant smell but not a bad one either I can't describe it but it does go away.

The Argan-oil infused color stick is a sheer tint that gives lasting, natural- looking color to cheeks and lips. All shades are designed to flatter every skin tone. The paraben and fragrance free formula contains Josie's signature ingredient, organic Argan Oil-the world's richest source of vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Size .55oz/16g.

Salma Hayek Nuance Ultra Shine Lip Gloss Review

This is my second review of a Nuance product and I can tell you it's not my last. I bought the pressed mineral foundation, an eyeliner, lipsticks, and blush that I will be reviewing in the next couple of days.
I really like the concept of Nuance. Yes, it's by a celebrity but I find Salma Hayek refreshing. She's a timeless beauty and seems natural. Anyway, I really like her products at least most of them. If your going to the drugstore buy this lip gloss. I bought the color Pomegranate 125. It's a nice Peach Coral color. It does have a sweet taste of some fruit but does not taste gross. When I put it on it does not feel sticky and it glides on the lips. I can compare this to Lancome's Juicy Tubes. It does not have long lasting wear about 2 hours max. The best thing about it is that my hair does not stick to it :) According to the package it has Mimosa extract and Mango Seed Oil with vitamins A,C and E. It's not tested on Animals and is Paraben free.

My Summer Treat Lip Balms

I've been into lip balms lately because my skin has been extremly dry. I bought a Josie Maran Argan Lip Treatment and Rose Petal Hydrating Lip Balm from Salma Hayek's new line Nuance. I think both of them are great but I do like one a little more than the other.

Josie Maran's Argan Lip Treatment: This naturally age-defying lip treatment restores your lipsyouthful fullness with a concentrated dose of firming, plumping power. Infused with nourishing Argan Oil and natural plant pigments, this potent anti-aging solution renews suppleness, leaving lips lush and line free.
First, I give the container a very enthusiastic thumbs up. I really like it, it looks like my little pot of lip gold. The color it gives is very sublte ( a light pink) and looks like my lips just better. It also does not have a heavy texture and feels good on the lips like I have nothing at all. It does smell like roses which I like. It does not taste like anything.I really like this for going out and I guess you can call it a lip balm but because it has a light pink color to it I won't wear it to bed. You can buy this at the Josie Maran website here for $18.00. The one on her website has no color to it so, I'm assuming this one can be multi use as well. Mine is in the color Sweet Pea which I purchased from QVC in a kit.

Salma Hayek Nuance Rose Petal Hydrating Balm:
This intense moisture balm with evening primrose oil helps soothe irritated skin and provides long-lasting moisture for chapped lips, rough cuticles, cracked elbows and other dry patches. Evening Primrose rich in essential fatty acids, helps condition skin ease irritation. Shea butter helps provide lasting hydration for soft smooth skin. I really like the packaging on this too, it's a tad bigger than the JM Argan Oil one. This one is 0.265/ or 7.5 grams and the JM is .24oz. It does smell like roses but it has a softer sweeter smell than the JM one. This one has a more luxurious feel to it and is more balm like. It's thicker because it can be used anywhere on the skin. I can compare it to the C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve. It smells the same and it's almost the same texture. Unlike the JM Argan Oil which can only be used on the lips, this one can be used on cuticles, lips and basically anywhere you have dry skin. You can buy this at CVS for $7.29.

The final verdict I like them both but Salma's wins by a little because it's multi-tasking. Both items are Paraban Free. Do you have a favorite lip balm?

Missoni For Target

I love Target. I do think that at times some of their basic stuff can be overpriced like makeup, toiletries and other house hold items. But, there are certain brands that come out and Target can be a place where fashion dreams are made of for the right price. Missoni would be one of them. I love Missoni fragrances I own two. I do like their unique patters since that is what the Missoni house is known for. However, I don't think that I could wear some of their clothes. The pieces they designed for Target are extremely wearable and affordable (compared to Missoni prices). The collection has everything from clothes, towels, a bicycle, makeup brushes, some shoes and house hold decorations. Here are my favorite things from the line. I think I will buy my hubby these socks, although I think he'll only wear them to sleep. This collection comes out September 17th and you can check out more items here at the Target Facebook page. Is there something that catches your eye?
