I hope you all had a nice Christmas. Mine was busy but I loved it. I'm sure you have seen these already but just in case you have not here are some sleek peeks. The most interested ones I want to try are the new Maybelline color whisper lipsticks, the new Age Rewind Dark eraser concealers, and the L'Oreal true match super blend-able crayon concealer. Have you tried or seen these yet?

Physicians Formula New BB Cream Sighting
I just saw this at Rite Aid and was itching to buy it but was not on sale. All of the $3 dollar peelies were missing except for one. But as you can see from the prices they are not cheap. The collection has a concealer, BB cream for the face and a powder which I find interesting. Have you seen this?

My Favorite Red Lipsticks of 2012
I love red lipstick, I have worn red lipstick since High School and probably will continue to wear it when I'm an old lady. However, there are reds, then there are reds. For those who wear red lipstick, you know what I mean. Not all reds go with every skin color and sometimes instead of brightening your face it can make you look funny. I like blue reds and warm reds. I tend to stay away from orangy reds because I don't like them. Here are my favorite reds in no particular order. Although every time I wear Cover Girl's Everlasting Imortalite I get compliments (every time). Everlasting is more of a dark brick red, the formula is ok and does last about 4 hours without eating or drinking anything.
There are two colors that are not reds but I put them on there because they are worth a mention. I wear Bobbi Brown Berry 11 and BE Moxie Dare Devil either together or alone. Bobbi Brown's Berry is a color so versatile that it needed to be mentioned and the formula is amazing.
- Cover Girl Everlasting Immortalite - dark brick red
- Cover Girl Hot Passion - bright red
- Kat Von D Adora- medium foiled red has gold specks to it (beautiful color)
- Estee Lauder Red Velvet Matte- blue matte red
- MAC Russian Red Matte- cool matte blue red
- Bobbi Brown Berry 11- slightly pinky berry color
- BE Moxie gloss Dare Devil- dark berry shade

December IPSY Bag
Beauty subscription boxes seemed all the rage a couple of months ago. I started with Birchbox about a year ago. When I first started receiving them I thought it was a good deal. The last couple of months from last year were not that good. I remember receiving mini sizes of Zoya nail polish and they were nice colors. I watch youtube and watch Michelle Phan and realized she was going to start having one as well. I missed the very first one, which looked like a good deal and then cancelled birchbox and started IPSY (formerly maglam). I think that IPSY is a better choice than Birchbox. I wanted to give Birchbox another try and I have received two and so far I'm disappointed still. I think in the new year I may just cancel Birchbox again.
December's IPSY came with:
$20 promo code for Justfab (I may buy a purse)
Mai Couture St Barts Highlighter Paper 25 sheets
NYX Ultra Pearl Mania LP02 (full size)
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero (black) mini size
be a bombshell lipgloss in hot mess (full size)
Mirabella face primer 12.85g which can be a deluxe size
And they always come in a little makeup bag which is a plus. I will review and post the contents of the Birchbox later today or tomorrow so that you can compare. Which beauty box do you subscribe to? What's your fav?
New Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation
Another CVS sighting. It seems that CVS has it going on with clearance and new makeup displays. I saw this one and it caught my attention. I love Revlon's foundation (colorstay, photoready, colorstay mousse) so when I saw this I knew I had to buy one. My CVS had it for $9.99 which is not a bad price. I bought 180 Medium Beige, it is the one that had yellow and being tones in it rather than pink tones. On the display it has a chart on how to find your shade and while it is . helpful for first time foundation users it may not always be right.
I will review this later when I have used it for at least 2 weeks.

BareMinerals Light Show Swatches
I had been wanting the holiday palette from BareMinerals, I just did not know which one. There was Light Show and White Hot. I decided to go to the BareMinerals boutique to test them out. To my surprise White Hot was only sold at Ulta and Sephora. After buying the Light Show on my way out I stopped at Macy's and saw White Hot and was glad I had chosen Light Show. It was $39.00 but it just so happened that they were having their friends and family sale and I got an extra 20% off of that. I also had to buy their new bareminerals ready foundation (I will review that later).
Light Show has 4 eyeshadows, 1 blush, 1 bronzer, 1 small eyeliner and one small lipgloss.
The eyeshadows are Spotlight a shimmery white, Flash a matte plum color, dazzle a shimmery green/turquoise color and flicker a shimmery coppery color.
The blush is a light pink that can be layered for a darker color and the bronzer can also be layered for a more intensified look. I was afraid the bronzer was going to be on the orange side and it is not.
The eyeliner in 10 pm is a dark brown which complements the shadows and the lipgloss is a shimmery nude color.
The value cannot be beat. Their pressed eyeshadows are good quality and last when you put a primer on. I'm not a huge fan of their loose powder bronzers so hopefully this does not turn orange on my skin. I have to admit that I am just not a big fan of loose pigments. I jumped on the mineral bandwagon a couple of years ago, but hated the whole lose concept. I'm glad that they are now pressing their makeup. I wish everyday minerals would do the same.
This can be easily taken on a trip and you would have everything to create a daytime look and a smokey look for night time.

More CVS Clearance
Let me start by saying that I'm on the hunt for the Revlon lip butters that are also supposed to be on clearance. I have not found them yet, they ring up at regular price ugh. But I did find three more goodies. I had been wanting to try the L'Oreal magic smooth soufflé but thought it too much money at almost $17 a jar. Well they are 50% off so I paid $8.25 for it.
I also bought the Revlon post trauma nail polish treatment for $2.19 and a Revlon Colotstay Aqua mineral makeup in Fair for $3.49. I bought the mineral foundation for my niece the only color that was on clearance was the fair color.
Have you hit the CVS clearance yet?

My CVS Sightings
I was at a CVS and saw these new makeup displays. Revlon seems to be jumping on the BB Cream bandwagon. I was able to swatch the light/med shade since they had a tester. It has a nice consistency and it blends easily. The shade was not too yellow or pink but more of a neutral shade. It is still too light for my NC 35-37 skin tone though.
I now understand why the old formulation Colorstay Revlon concealers are on clearance, because they are coming out with new ones as you can see by my pic.
Almay seems to be coming out with a new mousse foundation and blush as well.

Allure Holiday Box Lip Products
Here are the lip products and one nail polish that came in the Allure holiday beauty box. I also have swatches of the lip products. This box was worth the price. They are getting a little more expensive but this one was not a bad price. It did come with two face products and other things.
The lip colors and products are: Maybelline color sensational high shine lip gloss in Mochamazing, Neutrogena revitalizing lip balm SPF 20 in healthy blush, NYX glam lipstick aqua luxe in 06 Lotus, and Pixi lip and line in Peony Pretty. The nail polish is from Station in Front row slasher.

OPI NOTD
When the holidays are here I like my nails to reflect my holiday spirit. I love red nails and even sparkly red nails more. I like OPI Thanks so Muchness. It's a sparkly reddish pinkish color. It can look red at but at times also pinkish red. Anyway it's one of my fave for Christmas.
