Maybelline Fuchsia Fresia Color Sensational Lipstick Swatch

Spring is in the air and so are the Limited Edition makeup items I keep seeing at drugstores. I'm not one for buying LE items because if I like the item I won't ever see it again so I tend to stay away from them. But I am a lipstick junkie and thus I must buy. So here is another swatch of Maybelline's Spring Color Sensational lipstick in Fuchsia Fresia. I cannot tell you how pigmented this lipstick is, you can see by the swatch that it's full of color and it's really creamy. The color reminds me of their nail polish in Orchids oh My which I have a NOTD here. This totally screams Spring and I am going to wear it now that my lips are returning back to normal.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm Review & Swatches

I love Winter and at times I wish it would never end, but I don't like the effects it has on my skin. I end up with dry skin including really badly chapped lips and the heels of my feet can feel like cheese graters at times. I know to much info but it's true. The only thing that makes them soft is Vaseline but does not make the dryness go away. So, I've been forced to change my beauty routine from foundation, to eye shadows and applying cream blush and finding lipsticks or balms that are moisturizing. I find that the more scent and pigment something has the less moisturizing it is to my skin. I've been applying Nivea's A Kiss of Smoothness, Salma Hayek's Rose Petal Hydrating Balm reviewed here, and Blistex's Revive and Restore. I'll post a review later of Revive and Restore because it's helping my chapped lips a lot.

I purchased the colors Nourishing Nude 818 and Rose Elixir 218. Rose Elixir looked like a gorgeous color and Nude seemed like a safe color choice. I was intrigued by the world Balm on these tubes. Balm to me means moisture. According to L'oreal's website it's a tinted lipbalm with SPF 15 that provides a hint of luscious color for a full 8 hours of continuous hydration. I figured that I would review these while my lips are really dry so that I can test the full effect of the continuous hydration.

The Good:

• The packaging is very nice, it feels like a luxe lipstick
• The texture is that of a balm and does feel moisturizing
• It has SPF 15
• The colors are sheer but can be buildable

The Bad:

• If your looking for super pigmentation these are not for you
• The two that I have Rose Elixir and Nourishing Nude photograph the same and there really is no noticeable difference when I wear them
• They do not last 8 hrs of continual moisturizing

There really is nothing bad to say about these because they are balms. They go on super soft and do make my lips feel super soft. They are glossy and on my lips show up like a clear glossy balm. If you compare them to the Revlon lip butters (which you should not they are totally different) and the Maybelline Baby lips the only thing about all three is that they claim to be moisturizing for your lips and between these and the Maybelline Baby Lips these stay on longer. If your looking for moisturizing and pigmentation go with the Revlon Lip butters. If your looking for a balm that gives you color go for the Baby lips, and if your looking for a super lightly tinted balm with sheer color go with this one.

Review Revlon Lip Butters

I've had these for a couple of weeks and wanted to give them time before I reviewed them. At first, they remind me of the Clinique Buttershine Lipsticks. I LOVE the Clinique Buttershine lipsticks my favorite one is Adore U. Clinique's retail for $14.50 while Revlon's are about half the price. The picture above is from Rite Aid. I bought three, Red Velvet, Berry Smoothie and Creme Brulee. All the colors are really nice and they apply like well, butter. They are really smooth and feel nice on the lips not sticky at all which is nice. They have a nice shine to them as well, not as much as a lipgloss but enough that it makes the color stand out. I've been wearing Red Velvet and Creme Brulee the most and I must say the color holds true with both of them. I especially like Red Velvet even though I have had really bad chapped lips the color glides on and does not make my lips worse. You know that chapped lips and red lipstick do not go together but I have to say that these work well for me.

The colors are really pigmented. Red Velvet is a nice red that goes well with any skin color. It's more of a warm red than blue and can almost pass as a dark berry color and does not have shimmer in it which is nice for a change. Creme Brulee is a nice nude with slight shimmer. It's not too nude where it makes you look dead but can work as a tinted lip balm almost but it's not as thick as a lipbalm is. Berry  Smoothie is a nice subtle pinkish hue with some slight golden shimmer to it when it hits the light a certain way. This color will be gorgeous for the spring.

My final thought is that I love them and I will buy more colors. I will buy them when they have BOGO or when some has them for 40% off. Great lipstick, good staying power (about 4 hrs) and nice consistency. I like the packaging as well.

Josie Maran Argan Oil Color Stick in Sweet Pea

This is part of a kit that I bought from QVC. This was my first time trying Josie Maran and I find I like her products. I reviewed the Lip Balm and now it's time for the multi-tasking Color Stick. Sweet Pea is an exclusive color to QVC you can't buy this from the Josie Maran website. I like that this stick is multi-tasking you can use it on your cheeks and on you lips. It's a sheer wash or like a raspberry color and it's pretty creamy. I've used it twice and I really like it on my lips it gives me a subtle wash of color while on my cheeks is gives me a nice glow. I also like the control you get with a stick, you can put the color where you want to making it goof proof. It does a smell to it, it smells like Argan Oil. Not a pleasant smell but not a bad one either I can't describe it but it does go away.

The Argan-oil infused color stick is a sheer tint that gives lasting, natural- looking color to cheeks and lips. All shades are designed to flatter every skin tone. The paraben and fragrance free formula contains Josie's signature ingredient, organic Argan Oil-the world's richest source of vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Size .55oz/16g.

Salma Hayek Nuance Ultra Shine Lip Gloss Review

This is my second review of a Nuance product and I can tell you it's not my last. I bought the pressed mineral foundation, an eyeliner, lipsticks, and blush that I will be reviewing in the next couple of days.

I really like the concept of Nuance. Yes, it's by a celebrity but I find Salma Hayek refreshing. She's a timeless beauty and seems natural. Anyway, I really like her products at least most of them. If your going to the drugstore buy this lip gloss. I bought the color Pomegranate 125. It's a nice Peach Coral color. It does have a sweet taste of some fruit but does not taste gross. When I put it on it does not feel sticky and it glides on the lips. I can compare this to Lancome's Juicy Tubes. It does not have long lasting wear about 2 hours max. The best thing about it is that my hair does not stick to it :) According to the package it has Mimosa extract and Mango Seed Oil with vitamins A,C and E. It's not tested on Animals and is Paraben free.
