BareMinerals Light Show Swatches

I had been wanting the holiday palette from BareMinerals, I just did not know which one. There was Light Show and White Hot. I decided to go to the BareMinerals boutique to test them out. To my surprise White Hot was only sold at Ulta and Sephora. After buying the Light Show on my way out I stopped at Macy's and saw White Hot and was glad I had chosen Light Show. It was $39.00 but it just so happened that they were having their friends and family sale and I got an extra 20% off of that. I also had to buy their new bareminerals ready foundation (I will review that later).

Light Show has 4 eyeshadows, 1 blush, 1 bronzer, 1 small eyeliner and one small lipgloss.

The eyeshadows are Spotlight a shimmery white, Flash a matte plum color, dazzle a shimmery green/turquoise color and flicker a shimmery coppery color.

The blush is a light pink that can be layered for a darker color and the bronzer can also be layered for a more intensified look. I was afraid the bronzer was going to be on the orange side and it is not.

The eyeliner in 10 pm is a dark brown which complements the shadows and the lipgloss is a shimmery nude color.

The value cannot be beat. Their pressed eyeshadows are good quality and last when you put a primer on. I'm not a huge fan of their loose powder bronzers so hopefully this does not turn orange on my skin. I have to admit that I am just not a big fan of loose pigments. I jumped on the mineral bandwagon a couple of years ago, but hated the whole lose concept. I'm glad that they are now pressing their makeup. I wish everyday minerals would do the same.

This can be easily taken on a trip and you would have everything to create a daytime look and a smokey look for night time.

Physicians Formula PH Matchmaker Blush Review & Swatches

Physicians Formula has let me down in a couple of recent purchases and to be honest I thought this one was going to be another one of those items. I was pleasantly surprised to find this was a good purchase if worn sparingly. I'll get to that a little later. I bought it at CVS on sale for like 40% off and it had a coupon attached to it. It was not a bad deal at all. I picked up the color Natural 7559. According to the package it instantly matches you in 60 seconds. It has a 14 hour wear and it has a PH power complex to transform into your perfectly personalized hue. One cool feature it has is that the compact lights up with LED lights. So in case you want to touch up at night you now have light.
So in other words it's going to be the perfect match for your skin tone every time you apply it. And if you apply it on someone else the effect will be different. OK, so let's try it and see the verdict.

It has some shimmer to it on the outside edges but once that is gone the blush is a little shimmery but not too much you don't really notice it. It has no smell which is nice. I applied it with a MAC blush brush. I did not know how it was going to adapt to my skin tone so I applied it very lightly. And with the first application it was very natural. I guess it matches it's name Natural. To be honest, I did not see it change color from the way it was on my hand to the application on my cheek. I swatched it on my hand various ways, lightly and a a heavier swatch as well. The pic of my hand is a heavier swatch. In my opinion it's just like any blush you put on. If you want to look like a clown you will over apply blush, no matter what color it is. But if you apply it lightly it will look good. I do like this blush very much and for the price you can't beat it. Every blush will look different on everyone just like a foundation and concealer will. It did last an 8 hour day but I did not test the 14 hour wear that it claims to have. It's a very natural pink blush that I do think will look good on everyone. Just be careful when applying it, I do think that it has the potential of looking too pink form some skin tones, especially the lighter ones.
I'm curious to try their matchmaker powder.

Josie Maran Argan Oil Color Stick in Sweet Pea

This is part of a kit that I bought from QVC. This was my first time trying Josie Maran and I find I like her products. I reviewed the Lip Balm and now it's time for the multi-tasking Color Stick. Sweet Pea is an exclusive color to QVC you can't buy this from the Josie Maran website. I like that this stick is multi-tasking you can use it on your cheeks and on you lips. It's a sheer wash or like a raspberry color and it's pretty creamy. I've used it twice and I really like it on my lips it gives me a subtle wash of color while on my cheeks is gives me a nice glow. I also like the control you get with a stick, you can put the color where you want to making it goof proof. It does a smell to it, it smells like Argan Oil. Not a pleasant smell but not a bad one either I can't describe it but it does go away.

The Argan-oil infused color stick is a sheer tint that gives lasting, natural- looking color to cheeks and lips. All shades are designed to flatter every skin tone. The paraben and fragrance free formula contains Josie's signature ingredient, organic Argan Oil-the world's richest source of vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Size .55oz/16g.
