Review Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream

I may be late on the BB cream band wagon but I'd figure late is better than never. I was really hesitant to try this because I had already tried another BB cream and I was NOT a fan of that one. I tried the Missha Perfect Cover in the number 21 and the color was way off. I saw this at Walgreens and thought that if I did not like it, I could always return it. It comes in two colors, light/medium and Medium/Deep. I bought medium/deep hoping it had enough yellow in it to even out my skin. For reference I'm a MAC NC35 right now and during the summer NC40.

According to the box: Instantly renews, brightens, evens and hydrates. It has Vitamin C and Mineral pigments. The box also says it's dermatologist tested for safety, won't clog pores, it's gentle on skin and it's non greasy. It does contain sunscreen SPF 15. It's a miracle all in one product with results you can see and feel instantly. Skin appears airbrushed, beautifully smooth and even. It's light weight and comfortable texture blends perfectly into skin for a sheer flawless finish.

The Pros:
  • Has SPF 15
  • Nice sheer application
  • Feels smooth on the skin upon and after application
  • Does even out the skin tone
  • Has a dewy finish
  • Good for dry to combo skin
The Cons:
  • Not for Oily skin
  • Limited Colors
  • Not for skin with yellow undertones
  • It is floral scented

The consistency comes out a little thick on the tube, but is sheer when blended. I don't really have a bad thing to say about this BB cream but I hate it when the color selection is so limited. I think a Light, Medium, and deep would be nice but a Medium with yellow undertones would even be better. This one is more on the beige/pinky shade. You can mix it with foundation but then that defeats the purpose of this being an all in one cream. If you have great skin or have skin that needs a break from foundation due to blemishes then this is for you. I'd recommend this in the Spring and Winter months as oppose to the hot months because in my opinion it won't hold up. In my opinion this is very similar to a tinted moisturizer.

Review Neutrogena Microdermabrasion System

I purchased this a week and a half ago at CVS. I had been using the Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion & Peel System. I like the Olay Peel system but I feel like it needs to be done in the shower because it's a two step system. I like the results of the Olay because you can feel them immediately. I thought I'd give this one a try since it comes in a wand form and has the disposable puffs.

According to Neutrogena.com this is the product description. For softer, more luminous skin today and firmer, younger-looking skin tomorrow, Neutrogena® Microdermabrasion System starter kit delivers noticeable results every time you use it.

Even more effective than professional microdermabrasion, Microdermabrasion System is a simple, convenient at-home system that features single-use puffs and the microdermabrasion applicator. Each puff is pre-dosed with ultra-fine crystals and mild purifiers for the perfect degree of gentle exfoliation. What's more, the massaging micro-vibrations boost surface cell turnover for firmer, younger-looking skin.
After the first use I immediately felt my skin to be softer and it did seem more luminous. I always feel that with microdermabration my serums and moisturizers have a better effect on my skin. When you turn the wand on, it does have a pulsing sensation that is stronger that you clarisonic. Some people report having problems using the clarisonic because their teeth hurt, if that's the case then this product is not for you skip it. But if you don't then definatly try this. It says to use 1 to 2 min per facial skin area. If you have sensitive skin do about 1 min. I used it like my clarisonic and did rotating motions concentrating on my dry spots and my t-zone. My skin felt fresh, smooth and more radiant. I'll continue using it and see if I see any diminishing some very fine lines and wrinkles that I have. Overall, this is a good product for the price and you can immediately feel results after the first use. Have you tried microdermabration at home?

Top 100 Cosmetic Manufactures

I ran across this article from a friend of mine who used to work for Estee Lauder. I really miss her. Anyway, I think it's an interesting article to read. It really is informative and you can see where your money goes, at least with me hahaha. I can't really say the biggest brand of makeup I bought in the last year was because I don't know for sure. I guess if you count someone like proctor and gamble then you would include Pantene, Olay, Herbal Essences and such not just makeup. But if we are talking just makeup I think that Estee Lauder takes it for me. I bought a couple of items including the newest Sensuous fragrance ( I love those) which by the way their newest one is called Sensuous Nude coming in August online. Well let me know if this article is interesting.

Drug Store Face Masks

I think one of the most important skin care items people do not really do as part of their skin care routine is a weekly face mask. Yes, we have all been told that wearing a moisturizer with SPF everyday is a must, but what about a face mask? For years I have been obsessed with them but have to admit I do not use them very often except in the summer months. My face gets oily and I seem to want to try every moisturizer and mask that can control my oily skin in the hotter months. I have been a true follower of the Queen Helene Mint Julep Face Mask. I've seen the QH Grape Seed Peel off Mask and have been curious to try but those peel off masks kinda hurt when I take them off.
On the QH website there are one mask and one scrub that I'd like to try but have not seen at my local drugstores. They are the Avocado and Grapefruit Mask for normal skin and the Pomegranate and Raspberry facial scrub.
Well here are a couple more I want to try. The Freeman Mint and Lemon Clay Mask, Superfruits Detoxifying Clay Mask, and the Pure Ambition Avocado/Oatmeal Facial Clay Masque by Freeman as well. Is there a cheap facial mask that you use? Or do you have a good DIY recipe you'd like to share?
